So we here at Afro-Pick.com were listening to the Tom Joyner shows reaction to President Trump seeking to mold himself into the image of President Andrew Jackson who as they explained was a slave-owner who was known for his cruelty to those he owned. In addition he was responsible for the massacre of many Native Americans. In other words they were outraged.
We Googled the definition of the word outrage and this is what we got:
an extremely strong reaction of anger, shock, or indignation.
We here at Afro-Pick.com pose that the outrage many of our fellows in media tend to have is a pointless pursuit. It is like getting angry with a wolf for eating one of your sheep. Thr wolf is simply doing what is in its nature to do and no amount of your outrage, words, marches, signs, tweets, hash tags or anything deemed as 'rational' will ever trump (see what we did there) the hunger of the wolf and what that hunger will motivate that wolf to do for its own self benefit.
Black people need to stop getting angry. We should not be shocked. Indignation does nothing. The true issue is not who President Trump decides to emulate but what we as a people can do to make ourselves unassailable regardless of any actions he may take against our collective interests.
Already if you are paying attention the new administration is planning to renew the war on drugs which means more mass incarceration for black people in America. Coupled with the new emphasis on 'law and order' and having a known 'alt-right' supporter like Steve Bannon as one of his closest advisors means we should not be outraged about anything this new administration is doing or planning.
We should be motivated.
We looked up the definition of motivate on Google as well.
provide (someone) with a motive for doing something.
See the difference between OUTRAGE and MOTIVATION is that outrage is an emotional reaction while motivation is the start of an action.
That said - Help us take action by helping this website grow. We vow that we will never be outraged by the things people do but will constantly be motivated to overcome all obstacles between the African diaspora and greatness. Let us make Africans great again!
